GA Joshua's Law Driver Education Course

Complete Joshua's Law (30 hrs)
Finish the state-required 30-hour Joshua's Law drivers ed course and download your certificate of completion.

Take the DDS Written Knowledge Test
Take the written test in person at a Georgia DDS Customer Service Center. This test cannot be taken online.

Receive the Class CP Learner's Permit
After passing the written test and vision screening, teens receive their Class CP permit to begin supervised driving.

Complete Required Driving Practice
6 hours with a licensed instructor plus 40 hours with a parent/guardian (6 of those at night).

Take the Road Test at DDS
Once eligible, take the road skills test at DDS to earn your Class D license.
